Dorothy’s Place is lovingly named after founder, Briana Mickel’s, great grammy- Dorothy. From her earliest memories, Briana has always held a place in her heart for older adults. This is mostly contributed to the intergenerational living Briana had as a young girl, where her beloved Great Grammy lived and played alongside her. Even though she was young, she understood her grandmother seemed confused and, at times, not quite herself. Taking this experience into adulthood, Briana gravitated towards taking care of seniors.

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Pathology and Master’s of Healthcare Administration, Briana made it her promise to understand the senior living industry- from the ground up. With 12 years of experience in the field, Briana has learned and held positions in almost every role in long-term care.
